Luxurious Legacy Villas at La Quinta 3BR/3BA Sleeps up to 8

At the dawn of Hollywood’s Golden Age, Greta Garbo, Clark Gable, and other screen legends often escaped from the limelight by retreating to the lush hideaway of La Quinta Resort & Club.  Three quarters of a century later in 2006, the best of La Quinta would be melded into the perfect resort annex comprised of one and two-story Spanish Hacienda-style Villas with sloping red-tiled roofs, hanging over whitewashed walls, all surrounded by dozens of pools, fountains and palm trees.

  • The Deluxe Villas which resemble a 5 Star Hotel are luxuriously furnished in early California decor and boast 10' ceilings

Over 1700 square feet of space provides the getaway seeker plenty of room to stretch out for a day, a week or a month

  • Opulent Spa-like ambiance features deep soaking tubs, stall showers, fireplaces in bedrooms, ceiling fans in every room

  • Flat screen T.V. with surround sound and digital library, High Definition cable with HBO, high speed wireless internet

  • Kohler fixtures, rich maple wood cabinetry, granite counters and stone tile floors

The chef's kitchen, outdoor BBQ and an open floor plan are perfect for entertaining groups.  Or stay in bed and order room service, available daily from the La Quinta Resort and Spa next door.

Both the living room and master bedroom open through charming french doors onto private verandas, where the aromas of surrounding bougainvillea complement romantic evenings of al fresco dining or sipping wine under a canopy of stars.  The dual master suites each contain their own private bathrooms with soaking tubs and stall showers.  We specifically chose this top floor, end unit location for the exceptional amount of sunlight it receives through the tall windows adorned with plantation shutters, and for its unparalleled privacy and magnificent views of the dramatic Santa Rosa foothills from almost every room.

For a host of additional options, guests can meander next door to the Waldorf Astoria La Quinta Resort and Spa, an original adobe structure surrounded by manicured lawns and gardens.

The resort’s romantic outdoor plaza invites shoppers to amble among the artful water features and flowers, while browsing Polo Ralph Lauren and other clothing and gift boutiques such as the vintage-inspired candy shop Lollipops.  The biggest chore is choosing between the resort’s six fabulous restaurants: Twenty6 constructs bistro favorites using classic approaches, while Morgan’s in the Desert dishes out sophisticated plates of seafood and steak in the historic main building, and Adobe Grill dishes out authentic freshly made regional cuisine and signature margaritas using more than 50 handcrafted tequilas.  If this sounds exhausting, then slow down at the Spa La Quinta—crowned one of the Top 50 Spas of America. Here, two wall fountains frame a 200-gallon saltwater aquarium in the lobby, creating an aura of tranquility that continues throughout treatments as therapists use organic products during soothing facials and massages. Designed by Pete Dye, the two championship golf courses on the resort grounds—which are augmented by the three courses of the nearby PGA West club, including the TPC Stadium course, ranked as one of Golf Digest's 100 greatest public courses—give golfers ample opportunity to work on their game while admiring the breathtaking views of the Santa Rosa Mountains.

It’s just a short one-mile walk or bike ride to Old Town La Quinta, a charming historic central district for outdoor concerts and art shows as well as shopping that favors charming boutiques and cafes over national chain stores.  A short drive away in Rancho Mirage, the Living Desert Zoo and El Paseo Shopping District provide days of fun and attractions for the whole family.

Our Recommendations for Your Getaway:

Old Town La Quinta .  Foot traffic converges on this charming district for outdoor concerts and art shows as well as shopping that favors charming boutiques over national chain stores.

Adobe Grill .  Chefs prepare guacamole tableside at this authentic regional Mexican restaurant, where more than 50 handcrafted tequilas accompany a selective menu.

La Quinta Mountain Course.  Carved into the Santa Rosa Mountains, this challenging golf course features treacherous bunkers and rock hazards as well as elevated tees showcasing beautiful vistas.

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Rotating tramcars lift passengers 2.5 miles in the sky for panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and desert wilderness.

La Quinta Museum.  Currently curating wagon-scene dioramas and hands-on activities showcasing the life of Californian pioneers, this museum draws flocks of families with its traveling exhibits and historic artifacts.

The Living Desert.  Guides lead tours through this wildlife and botanical park, where visitors can observe various gardens and 450 animals ranging from Mexican wolves to African livestock in the petting corral.

At Legacy Villas, you’ll experience the best the desert has to offer at any price…at an unbelievably low price!
